It’s hard to tell the age of this piece. It does have a safety latch which marks it to a certain point that they were used depending on where it was made. There is a metal degradation I cleaned it up a bit and am not going to go over board. It it what it is- it might clean up fully- I doubt it. It’s authentically aged. The design is so wonderful to me! I see the end of the art nouveau period becoming Art Deco. I asked my husband - an architect - he seemed to agree. It also reminds me of the flowers in the macintosh designs I saw in Scotland - and of course those would be art modern and more 1900-1910, and I think the placement of the pin in the safety clasp negates this. Sometimes I wish Jewelry could just tell us its story- then I think - maybe it might loose some of its magical mystery! 🌷✨🌷✨🌷✨✨✨
